Born and raised in Spain, I grew up bilingual thanks to my mother teaching me English. She usually says I started when I was 2 but I was so young I can’t possibly remember so I have to take her word for it.

My first contact with teaching English was also as I was growing up. I used to help my teachers in school, especially with pronunciation and everyday English. It went on during high school but teaching English was so natural for me that I didn’t realize I could make a living from it until my mid-twenties.

I obtained my degrees and started to follow my passion. Now, with over twenty years of teaching experience, I never stop learning and trying to improve my teaching skills.

I first decided to create idiomium.es because I teach at different locations and running around packing tons of hard copies is not my idea of comfort. It then stroke to me that my own students could use a learning platform to fit our modern times.

Later, I realized that anyone who wants to improve their English could put idiomium.es to a good use so I decided to share my experience and knowledge with the world out there. I do believe anyone should be able to learn even if they don’t have the money for it so everything in idiomium.es is and will always be free.

Enjoy!

  1. Hello! I’m Irina and I’m from Russia. Last month, I moved with my family to Spain. I know a bit of English, and I really like this website, but my problem is the Spanish. My parents speacked it more or less, but for me it’s impossible. I write you because I’m searching for a website like this but for learning Spanish instead of English. I hope you know what I’m looking for. Thanks for reading.

    • Hi, Irina! Welcome to Spain 🙂 I hope you can eventually call it home 🙂

I do understand you, your English is on point! However, I am afraid I don’t know any website like mine but for learning Spanish. All of them focus too much on rules and long explanations, which don’t really help.

If I were you, I would watch TV as much as I can, and I would talk to Spanish people. Ask the same questions over and over and listen to native speakers. You’ll learn Spanish faster than you think.

      Good luck!! 🙂
