Jason didn’t know what to do, he was just so lost. He had been juggling the responsibilities of his family and his job for a long time.
When he was a student in Law school, he could have never imagined that one day he would become a judge. It seemed impossible at that time but his major in Criminal Law had really paved the way.
Apparently, he had it all. A gorgeous wife, a gigantic house and a lovely child Jason usually called «my wonderful genius». However, he wasn’t happy at all.
Yeah, his job as a judge had its perks. He had been able to send really bad people to jail, he was friends with the mayor and his wage was so good he had even bought a yacht. Yet he didn’t feel satisfied. New cases brought before his court made him yawn instead of bringing joy and excitement. He clearly yearned for something else.
Jason thought that maybe he could go on a journey to some tropical paradise. He could just put on his yellow swimwear and scuba-diving gear to enjoy the sea and perhaps see some colorful jellyfish. Or he could join a hippie commune and live on what earth yielded. But he knew he was kidding himself, it all sounded like a joke.
He dreamt of his youth, when he was so young he didn’t care at all. He would just put on his leather jacket and ride his fast bike for fun. His life now was so overly complicated and utterly meaningless. His concerns were drinking enough detox juice, eating his probiotic yoghurt and not skipping any yoga class.
His friend John had told him to hold on and wait for better times but all Jason could think about was playing «Yesterday» by The Beatles and forget about everything.
