The goal of this speaking class is to become familiar with the most common verbs involving gastronomy as well the essential vocabulary around it.
The class may start by writing down some verbs about cooking and gastronomy but it is not necessary. Students better learn those verbs on the go, getting them interested in the conversation.
task
1 Watch some of the videos below for inspiration and 101 vocabulary.
2 Talk and discuss.
Can you cook anything?
Is there any recipe your friends keep on asking you to make?
Any secret family recipe your grandmother passed onto you?
Have you improved your cooking skills in the recent years?
Do you think there is a culinary revolution taking place right now?
3 Each student must tell the class about a recipe. You needn’t be thorough so your classmates will have the chance to ask away.
For those of you who cannot recall any recipe, you can talk about their favorite meal and how they think it is done. Desserts are most welcome!
