Los colores en inglés (colours en UK, colors en USA) nos suenan mucho porque se utilizan en español con cierta frecuencia, especialmente en la industria de la moda, así que no hay mucho problema para recordarlos.

Simplemente es necesario acordarse de que los colores en inglés son adjetivos y por tanto van delante del sustantivo que califican. Obviamente, tampoco tienen género ni número —en inglés se dice igual rojo, roja, rojos y rojas.

Para hacer los colores claros —light— u oscuros —dark— basta añadirles delante estos adjetivos.

Many people believe that pink, violet and purple are feminine colors, meaning that women prefer these colors and that most men don’t like them.
Truth is it wasn’t always like that. Many years ago, pink was considered a strong, masculine color and light blue a feminine one. Besides, colors are just colors, aren’t they?

Some people don’t consider black, white and gray as real colors although they actually are. However, these people just feel that colors should be bright and lively, which these three colors definitely are not.
People in the USA say «gray» but in the UK they say «grey». It doesn’t matter, it is the same color.

Silver and gold are two special colors, unlike any of the rest. It is so because they are often associated with luxury and the precious metal that bear the same name.
